Recent Features
- The Screen Only option records only the screen during an assessment – no webcam required. This is ideal for exams delivered in classrooms or testing centers where an instructor wants to observe how students answer questions.
- A new setting allows students to switch between an online exam and MS Excel or Word. Learn More
- Sensitivity levels for flagging can be adjusted from the proctoring results page. Learn More
- Machine learning for Respondus Monitor’s computer vision system is now trained entirely in-house. The advantages are many, including an 80% reduction in false positive flags. Learn More
- Instructors are now alerted when a handheld device (phone, calculator) is detected during an online exam. Learn More

Earlier Enhancements
- The “Show Your Work” option prompts students to take photos of their worksheets at the end of a Respondus Monitor proctoring session. Learn More
- Fewer video disconnection flags occur with Respondus Monitor now that videos are stored locally during brief internet slowdowns/stoppages. These video segments are uploaded when the connection stabilizes. Learn More
- Higher resolution videos provide instructors with a clearer, brighter picture of students during the exam session. Learn More
- Proctoring results are now available to instructors in about 10 minutes, on average. Learn More
- LockDown Browser for iPad no longer requires instructors to enable it on a per exam basis, unless the exam uses a webcam (Respondus Monitor).
